What's covered.

World Nomads is specially designed for adventurous independent travellers. We aim to keep you out of trouble but be there for you should trouble land at your feet. Our insurance is focused on what really matters, medical and emergency evacuation although it also covers other areas such as your baggage and cancellation costs.

Overseas medical expenses

Following an injury or illness during your journey your policy covers reasonable costs for Medical, in-hospital, road ambulance and other treatment administered by a registered medical practitioner or paramedic.

Medical evacuation or additional expenses

Should you interrupt your trip due to illness or injury requiring hospitalisation, you are covered for additional travel, accommodation & evacuation expenses with our consent. This may also include paying for a relative or a friend to travel to you and or escort you home in place of a doctor. You are also covered for costs to replace lost/stolen passports, travel documents and credit cards.

Emergency dental treatment

You are covered for emergency dental treatment for costs to relieve sudden and acute pain following an injury to healthy natural teeth whilst overseas.

Luggage and personal effects

You are covered for accidental theft or damage to your personal belongings. Each item limit is NZD$250. Exclusions apply to certain items left unattended in a motor vehicle and all items left unattended in a motor vehicle between sunset and sunrise local time.

Cancellation costs

If you have to cancel your transport/accommodation arrangements due to an unforeseen and unforeseeable circumstance outside your control, you can claim for the non-refundable cancellation costs.

Personal liability

You are covered for legal liability claims made against you resulting from your negligence.
